COMMON CONVICTION

REVIVING THE CREED OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IN AMERICAN DISCOURSE

WHAT SO PROUDLY WE HAIL

America conceived itself on a creed of self-evident Truths – We hold that all humans are equally and inherently endowed with unalienable rights, and that government exists to secure those rights.

A nation conceived in a principle can endure any test if its people hold to their conviction.  Every dawn brings a new test, and new opportunities, for each American and for America. America will thrive, and advance the human condition, if we nurture our founding tenets.

Those tenets leave us each to fashion our own ways to live by them – and even argue over our views – but our founding creed is deeper and more precious than partial, politicized “truths” that “prove” my side right and the other wrong.  It is our common bottom line.

Common Conviction offers a voice that speaks from that bottom line of our founding.
